Against Plagiarism - Being Original

Do you every copied in your exams?
Did you take notes from your friends and distributed in your class tagging it as your own work?

While Anu Malik is infamous for his copying act, why A R Rahman doesn't give credit to Central India's local musicians for his mangal pandey title track act?
How do you handle software copying?
does it bother you if some-one copy your blog content and publish it with out your consent?
how do you handle plagiarism?


Inspiration is a nice name been given to copying, but thats no wrong either, if You like someone's work, you can always take inspirations from it. its a learning process. but whats' important is that you acknowledge the same.

I believe in being original, that doesn't mean, while I write heavy software codes, I dont copy, I do, from my own or from the net but with-in the laws and the limitations the source has specified. Some of the pics used in this blog, on the side bars, or in the posts are been taken from Internet, and the sources have been specified. Infact I feel, adding links draws more traffic to your content. e.g. one of my post "templum" has the most number of google hits till date. reason the place I dint have the pics of, I added direct links to website of its source. and in places possible I did highlight the url as well.

Yesterday I thought of checking Copyscape, and I found this gentleman/woman, took my July post Fortune Kookies as it is, and re-published on his/her blog (snippet) with out even asking me for it. I left a comment on the post giving a tiny little lecture on copyright laws and asking to remove the post immediately. So before I could make some bucks sueing the person, I verified, he/she has removed it from the blog. and I could only find it in cached pages of Copyscape. and I could see the learning from the steps I took against him since In his/her new post, the source of the content was well mentioned.

Such incident happens often on networld. specially after the introduction to blogging, which is pretty easy, straightword and sort of free entry to the cyber-space. I think we should all put our little extra effort in cross-verifying our work and protect it. Since we have all right to do so. I give a thums-up to Copyscape folks for their efforts in preventing plagiarism. really appreciated.

Web Publishing is a healthy medium to be used to maintain healthy communication and to reach masses. blogging is no fun. its serious business. If you don't believe what you log! please do not log it. there are lot of young age bloggers, who just start blogging out of boredom and just to make quick money through ads. all I'd request to all netizens, is to
