Crafts in India is as rich and diverse as its history. Its not only a reflection of tradition and culture, its a way of living in India. Though popular amongst travelers as souvenir, a few of artifacts, and other few used in daily lives, The local art  is still neither well preserved or promoted. I personally have seen many handicraft arts dying through years, as even in the rural areas the pace of life is now changed, and the summer traditions of making sweet grass baskets, hand-fans, and wall hangings are merely visible.

In this week's #travelindia we tried to explore the craft industry of India, from travelers point of view. How they see it at present and how they can help promote the lesser known rural and specially tribal art, and if it at all is possible to keep the tradition going except from with in the fashion designing institutes and typical emporiums.
