"kumbh" : A Fine Art Photography Book9/18/2013 07:31:00 PM
Hey Guys, Yes, I know, it took me almost 8 months to produce this, and most of you may have already forgotten about the largest spiritual gathering of humanity in the world, the event, that happened earlier this year in India of course. But here is a good reminder for you all to look back at one of the most talked about event in 2013.
I am vey excited to present you my new photo book "kumbh : 2013", a fine art photographic work from my very brief yet "lucky" visit to Maha Kumbh Mela in January this year.
The images are mainly impact portraits and documentary shots as part of a collection I made in the span of about 6 -7 hrs on the inaugural day of Kumbh Festival, which was also the first Shahi Snan day of the festival and Makar Sankranti day, the yearly festival. With my parents, I reached Allahabad late night on 13th January. we were hosted by my uncle's family. We walked to the ghats of sangam next morning at about 3AM, took a dip in ganges before sunrise, visited the temple Patalpuri temple & Akshay vat in Akbar fort and were on my back to Delhi by 2PM. ( The travel experience is due, and I will write it down sometime soon.)
The photo book is sized 5x8 inches (13x20 cm) Pocket, and has 84 pages of photo spreads, in color printing (on white uncoated paper). The printed book is available for purchase in Soft cover, Hard cover dust jacket and image wrap on my book store on blurb here - http://www.blurb.com/b/4608588-kumbh
The preview here shows the entire book.
P.S. Currently ebook and pdf version are not available. Please write to me if you would like to order an online version.
